John Gibson

John Gibson, professor i økonomi, underviser ved University of Waikato. Han underviste tidligere ved University of Canterbury og Williams College, var forskningsgæst ved Center for the Study of African Economies, University of Oxford og er Associate Researcher ved LICOS Center for Institutioner og Økonomisk Præstation ved KU Leuven. Han modtog sin ph.d. fra Stanford University og har siden arbejdet rundt om i verden i lande som Cambodja, Kina, Indien, Papua Ny Guinea, Rusland, Samoa, Salomonøerne, Thailand, Tonga, Vanuatu og Vietnam. Han er Fellow i Royal Society of New Zealand og Distinguished Fellow i New Zealand Association of Economists og Australasian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society.
